Winter Moon Moments

Lately my morning commute has been filled with either wet, slushy, snowy or icy roads, depending on the day. It is not my favorite thing. In fact, winter in general is not my favorite thing at all...

But on Monday I saw something beautiful that brightened my commute, and my heart, a little bit.
It was so beautiful that the photographer in me really wanted to stop and take a picture, but this particular street hadn't been plowed yet and it would have been crazy to try and stop. Anyways.

It was one of those brief moments in between snowstorms when you could actually see the sky, and it was a light morning blue. The trees were covered with fresh snow, giving them that sparkly, magical look in the morning light. And for a few minutes as I was driving, the full moon was faintly glowing just above the sparkling trees. It was a simple thing, to be sure, but it was a little piece of light that I could carry with me during a day that turned out to be much more stressful than anticipated.

Sometimes all it takes is a few minutes of something simple to remind you that life is beautiful, even in the midst of the cold and the storms that might keep coming.

Anyways, this dreary winter weather will let up eventually, but until then I just need to keep finding those simple moments to hold on to until spring comes again. Spring is absolutely my favorite thing, by the way. :)

Happy Winter!
