Red Light, Green Light Moments

Sometimes in life, you get green lights all the way.
Everything seems to fall into place.
You arrive at your intended destination on time, as planned.

Sometimes in life, you get stopped by a red light.
You find you need to change your plans,
or find a different route to take.

Sometimes in life, the green light turns into a yellow light.
You find you just simply have to wait...
Wait and hope for whatever lies around the corner.

Autumn Leaf Moments

I love that we get two chances to enjoy the autumn leaves here:
first in the mountains and then in the valley.
We went camping with Tyler's family to Wasatch Mountain State Park over the weekend,
and the colors there were amazing! I love this time of year.

 Happy Fall!

Birthday Season Meets Boston Moments

In our family, this time of year means more than just going back to school...it means birthday season. That's what we like to call it anyway. In a 5 week period, we celebrate 7 birthdays in our immediate family alone, with some other extended family birthdays added to that as well. Both of our families are very social, so there is usually an event attached to each birthday. Thankfully, some of those parties were combined this year, which makes it slightly less crazy-busy for all of us.
Gourmet Doughnuts for my Dad's 50th birthday party...yum!
Tyler shares his birthday with my little brother...cake and all.
This year, a completely different occasion was thrown into the mix of all the birthday season celebrating...my little sister and her cute family moved to Boston this past week. It was a little bittersweet to celebrate this exciting change in our family because we are really going to miss them. But we are also really excited to hear about their new adventures in Massachusetts, and hope to visit them soon.
The day that they left, we joined my dad to "drown our sorrows" at a great newer restaurant in Murray called Cous Cous Mediterranean Grill. Everything we had there was fresh tasting and delicious. We would especially highly recommend the garbanzo chips served with hummus and mango salsa. So good!
